COMO EL VIENTO, BLANCO. FRANCISO SOBRINO MUSEUM, GUADALAJARA SPAIN
On Friday, March 1st, the Francisco Sobrino Museum in Guadalajara opens its doors for Arturo Berned´s exhibition, titled ¨Como el Viento, Blanco¨, which is available for visits until Saturday the 28th of April. The exhibition is under the direction of the curator and art theorist, Alfonso de la Torre.
The exhibition features two imposing large format sculptures and 12 works on paper that establish an intimate dialogue with the work of Francisco Sobrino, a symbolic figure in Guadalajara present in his homonymous museum.
Arturo Berned has selected this space to present his work on paper, ¨SIROCO¨, ¨OSTRO¨ and ¨LEBECHE¨, where the colour white and the shadows stand as undisputed protagonists.
In the entrance patio to the museum, an immaculate white sculpture ¨MECCANO¨, emulates Sobrino´s work ¨Relaciones¨, that greets the traveler at the entrance to the city of Guadalajara.
The exhibition ends with a piece more than three meters in height, titled ¨EMPTINESS V¨ which due to the impact of light, is projected on the floor and the walls, inviting reflection and contemplation.
In the words of the sculptor:¨It is an honour for me to inaugurate this exhibition at the Francisco Sobrino Museum in Guadalajara and establish a dialogue with Sobrino´s work. ¨Como el Viento, Blanco¨ is a personal exploration of space, geometry and emptiness.¨
