Arturo Berned at the Eighth Beijing International Art Biennale in China

Arturo Berned will be representing Spain in the Eighth Beijing International Art Biennale in China, from August 30th to September 23rd, 2019.

This year’s theme is “A Colorful World and A Shared Future”

Arturo Berned chooses a unique sculpture that changes colour depending on viewing angle and light exposure, creating an enigmatic and perplexing effect that brings movement into the sculpture.

This makes movement imperative to be able to appreciate its balanced shape and colour.

If you look at the picture above, it may seem there are four different sculptures. When in reality, it is the same one.

“Tiny glass-like flakes mixed with the original paint make them work like millions of prisms within the paint, interfering with both the reflection and refraction of the light that is shined on the coating. “
